Whether it's modelling, taking a photo, writing or story or even watching a film, I love pariticipating and viewing erotic work. Deviantart is a wonderful place to find gorgeous image of beautiful women, and the most common place to find such photographs is in the artistic nude section.

Fine by me.

Though when the model is joined by another female friend it suddenly becomes fetish portraits. Now I know not all photographers/models do this, but a lot do and it annoys me. Sure in some cases it might be the clothing, make-up or even the style of image but when two females are modelling with each other, it could fit just as good in the emotive portraits (Or possibly artistic nude). Lesbianism, whether 'faked' on camera or real, is not a fetish.

Tis a good point. Sexuality's categories aught not allow Orientation to be subservient to or defined by Fetish. Each is it's own, with only a superficial intersection between them.

And yet they often are portrayed this way. I think this has less to do with bias as it does with ignorance and misunderstanding *derived* from bias, where the bias itself may no longer exist. Of course, in many cases, it still exists anyway. In fact, I find that between the two, images of male homosexuality appear to have a more acceptive leniency on DA. Perhaps due to the over-representation of straight girls on the site.

Of course, in the long run, this matters little. It's important now, much as any sociologically controversial topic embedded in the art world is important within its time. But 50 years from now, a century, a millennium...our art will be judged far away from such things. And often away even from that current time, isolated into its canvas - whatever that may be - within a museum, held for its pragmatic, historical importance, viewed on its own merits, and appreciated for what it is, away from assumption...as by then, assumption will no longer help the viewer any more than it helps us viewing our own ancient findings. The tragedy of Art is that the greatest pieces created in our time period (even when acknowledged as such by us) can only be truly understood after us and those of our time are all dead.

Okay, that got philosophicky..
tl;dr - time is the great equalizer.
